Iran’s rug is not only an artistic achievement, but also a narrative of the continuation of thought, the joy and experience of generations, the art of which each node carries a memory of the past and a message for the future. Each generation of artists and professors, such as a ring in the continuous chain of this heritage, have tried to convey what they learned, to the generations after themselves, and in the form of roles and colors, and sometimes in the form of words and recommendations. The hand of the front line is a souvenir from the Master of Prexote and the late art of contemporary Iranian rug, an Arab tradition of birth; an artist who, looking beyond his time, tried to rely on deep knowledge in design and coloring using literary, cultural, and inventing techniques. In the context, the new Persian carpet is made up of repetitions of the patterns and becomes an arena for expression of thought, narrative and identity. What is left of him is not the only roles and carpets, but rather a way of attitude to the art of Iran’s rug; a way in which creativity, knowledge, commitment, and bonding with culture, together. Therefore, his recommendations and writings can be considered not merely a souvenir from the past, but a guide to the future. The manuscript, written in the winter of 1368, was written for the 18th edition of Art and published in the spring of 1369, reflects the biologic experience and concerns of the artist who saw the rug as a living identity. Its opening in this number of journal is an attempt to communicate between yesterday and today, a relationship in which the voice of the masters becomes a guide to the new generation path.
